This isn't about gay bashing. We all need help in some areas in our lives. Church is a hospital for the sick. If we kick gay people out of the church then we need to kick out the fornicators, adulterers, those who don't pay tithes, alcoholics, etc.
Homosexuality is an overall term for people who like people of the same sex. Lesbians are two women who like each other. We dog two men together but think it's okay for two women to be together. That's the society we live in.
Quick note about bestiality. That is having sex with an animal.
Exodus 22:19
19 “Whoever lies with an animal shall surely be put to death.
Lev 18:23
23 Nor shall you mate with any animal, to defile yourself with it. Nor shall any woman stand before an animal to mate with it. It is perversion.
Lev 20:15
15 If a man mates with an animal, he shall surely be put to death, and you shall kill the animal.
Deut 27:21
21 ‘Cursed is the one who lies with any kind of animal.’
“And all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’
Sodom and Gomorrah
Gen 19:5 NIV
5 They called to Lot, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us so that we can have sex with them.”
Whatever God looks as perversion He will destroy it.
Noah's son Ham saw Noah's nakedness. Some say they participated in homosexuality.
Gen 9:18- 25
18 Now the sons of Noah who went out of the ark were Shem, Ham, and Japheth. And Ham was the father of Canaan. 19 These three were the sons of Noah, and from these the whole earth was populated.
20 And Noah began to be a farmer, and he planted a vineyard. 21 Then he drank of the wine and was drunk, and became uncovered in his tent. 22 And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brothers outside. 23 But Shem and Japheth took a garment, laid it on both their shoulders, and went backward and covered the nakedness of their father. Their faces were turned away, and they did not see their father’s nakedness.
24 So Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done to him. 25 Then he said:
“ Cursed be Canaan;
A servant of servants
He shall be to his brethren.”
Ham was cursed for uncovering his father.
God created Eve out of Adam. If a man is supposed to be with a man why didn't God create another man? Some will try to say that there is homosexuality in the bible. Some have said that Jesus was gay because he did not marry and was around 12 men. When you discuss homosexuality is wrong be sure that you know what you are talking about.
Jude 1:7
7Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
Is it worth going to hell?
You may say that you have been hurt and want to go after the same sex. Just because it feels good doesn't mean that it is right. A men getting with 3 women isn't right. Women getting toys is not right. Doing good doesn't always feel good such as tithing and loving everyone.
Lev 18:22
22Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
Lev 20:13
13If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
Don't do it because God doesn't like it.
Romans 1:24 - 27
24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.
v25 - You get caught up and worship the creature instead of God.
v26 - It's just not natural. It's only natural for a man and a woman to be together. The bible has to be the final authority in your life.
What if you are a guy and you don't like women? Or you are a woman and you don't like men? You feel like that because of sin. Just because you feel you were born that way you can be born again. The same blood that saves murderers, liars, thieves is the same blood that can save homosexuals and lesbians. The answer to sin is the blood.
Christian gays?
There are 4 predispositions to homosexuality:
1. Depressed temperament
2. Pessimistic childhood training
Parents were addicted to pornography, promiscuous parent.
3. Insecurities about child identity
Touched as a child, had experiences and it's in your head/mind. You may feel pain because of what
happened. It can't be excuse through your whole adulthood.
4. Child sexual experience
Stuff just happened and you are caught up.
80% of people who have these predispositions never had a homosexual encounter. You are not gay thinking about it. You are gay when you do it.
There is a difference between an effeminate and feminine men. If a man is effeminate then he is gay. Effeminate means a man has characteristics that are of a woman. If you aren't gay no one should think you are. Homosexuality can be a learned behavior. There are practical things you can do so people won't think you are gay or a lesbian.
In biblical times a woman with short hair meant that she was a prostitute. The women with short hair was set apart from a woman who had long hair.
Matt 5:13
13 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.
Salt was used to light the fire in the oven .We are the salt of the earth. You can make a conscious decision to not be like that. When a man gets with a woman a fire can be lit. Think of it like a lamp. When you plug a lamp into an outlet it is lit. When you put a plug with another plug nothing happens and they don't fit into each other.
