I Have a Date and I Can't be Late

Message was brought by First Lady Neshante Brown.

Isaiah 45:1-6

1Thus saith the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut;

2I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron:

3And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.

4For Jacob my servant's sake, and Israel mine elect, I have even called thee by thy name: I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not known me.

5I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:

6That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else.

Israel is God's chosen nation but they were known to be stiff necked. God would deliver them out of situation, forget who God was and go back to their bad habits, God would deliver them again, and then the children of Israel forgot who God was and went back to their old ways and the cycle continued. During this time they had been captured by the Babylonians. How many of us have pledged our loyalty to God? We get ourselves into trouble, God delivers us and then we get relaxed and get into our mess again.

Isaiah had given a prophecy about their deliverance 150 years before it happened. There have been times we have been in a rotten place but the only thing we have to hold onto is God's word.

Cyrus was from humbled beginnings and was abandoned as a child. He became the Emperor of Persia and was a non-Israelite. He was chosen by God to help deliver Israel. Cyrus = unchurched. God will use anyone.

Just as God had a specific purpose for Cyrus He has something for us to do. God has anointed everyone to do something. Our purpose is to bring deliverance to someone else. We are all supposed to be witnesses. We care called to be delivers in our circles. Your pulpit is where you are everyday. Your pulpit can be your job, family, ect.

Benefits of being anointed:

1.God will hold your right hand. Authorities will bow to you. There is power in God holding us by
our  hand. The wall in Babylon was so thick 6 chariots could ride atop of the wall.

Isaiah 45:1

1Thus saith the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to
subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before
him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut;

2. The gates will be open and not shut. God wants us to have access to the unlimited, to the   unconquered territory. Why? Because he has selected, hand chosen you. He will break the  pieces the brass. God will do  what He needs to do to bring you where you need to be. Unconquered territory = territory where no one has walked before. This could mean you were the  1st to go to college, 1st to not be in an abusive relationship, ect.

Isaiah 45:2

2I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in
pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron:

3. He will go before you to make sure it is safe. He will make the crooked places straight (making the hilly  places even with the low places). What are your mountains? This could be laziness, debt, defeat, racism,  ect. God is tackling the mountains & making hem even so you can tackle territory with ease.

4. God will break down whatever he needs to break down so you what ever is holding you back will do so no longer.

5. Treasure in darkness. Babylonians had hidden treasures in the ground. Cyrus had access to them. You may be in a dark place but there are treasures in the darkness.

Isaiah 45:3

3And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret
places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am
the God of Israel.

There is a testimony in your test, a message in your mess, destiny in your distress and a point to the pain. You will live to testify.

God knew you before He formed you.(Jeremiah 1:5).

Cyrus testified about what God did:

Ezra 1:2

2Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The LORD God of heaven hath given me all the
kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem,
which is in Judah.

Your appointment is not with Joe Blow and you can not be late. Trouble comes when there is no focus on where you are going.

For the singles:

Guard your gates carefully. Your gates are your eyes, ears and whatever you are around. Don't light a fire that you can not put out. It's not about feelings. It's about your destiny. If you don't own it, who will?

To the fatherless:

You can feel like something is lacking. You could feel the same way if you are motherless and anything that makes you feel like you don't measure up. The enemy hangs this over your head to keep you down. You are not illegitimate.

God has to fund your purpose. The fund is whatever you lack: money, favor, ect.
