How To Obtain the Victory

Message was preached by Prophet Carn at the RAW Revival

The thing that the enemy tried to kill us with is the same thing we will use to kill the enemy.

1 Sam 17:50-51

50So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him; but there was no sword in the hand of David.
51Therefore David ran, and stood upon the Philistine, and took his sword, and drew it out of the sheath thereof, and slew him, and cut off his head therewith. And when the Philistines saw their champion was dead, they fled.

Some scholars believe that David may have been an illegitimate child. He said he was born out of iniquity (Psalm 51:5). David knew how to worship God. It seems like God anoints the disqualified ones. People need to be careful how they you. You may be the person who delivers them. You may not get a lot of accolades but you know how to get a prayer through. Also be careful of how you treat others ,You never who God will use.

David is the most unqualified. He was taking care of sheep. He didn't mind serving. Those who always want to be seen aren't going anywhere. Humble yourselves in the presence of God and in due time He will lift you up (James 4:10). You don't get a reward when no one sees you. What you do in secret God will reward openly (Matt 6:4). Learn how to serve.

David was minding his business taking care of the sheep and it seemed like he was in a cage. You are in a cage while others are being blessed. You may be wondering why you are in a cage. You will find out who God is there. You don't find him on the top of the mountain or when things are going good. Others won't be able to help you because He wants you to rely on Him. You don't have to settle to get things. Wait on God. He going to supply. He's taking care of you right now.

There is no immediate benefit for keeping sheep. They can not be trained. God raised a prophet by the name of Samuel. He went to Jesse's house and said that one of the boys will be king ( 1 Sam 16)_. Samuel didn't know who was the king but the oil knew. The oil would only flow when the king was found. What God has for you is for you. If God says it's yours it's yours. The oil flowed on David. If you want to see if you are connected to the right person see if it flows. It doesn't flow you have to let it go.

David was anointed with a horn of oil. Saul was anointed with a vile of oil (man made, Sam 10:1). With David something had to die. If you want the anointing something has to die. After David was anointed he had to go back to the sheep. He had to serve the same person. David was being tested. You may be in the same situation and God is testing you. David had a private ministry to prepare him for public ministry. God will send enemies for private ministry. If you can't deal with haters when you don't have anything you won't be able to handle them when you have something.

1st thing God does is send David a lion. The power of a lion is in its voice. The devil is also like a lion:

1 Peter 5:8
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour
The devil uses his voice to paint pictures in your mind to make you think that you won't be what God said that you would be. But God said:

Isaiah 54:7
17No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.

The 2nd thing God did was to send a bear. David killed all of his enemies ( 1 Sam 17:34-37). These enemies prepared David for Goliath. David had to get over the intimidation of Goliath.

1 Sam 17: 1-4
1Now the Philistines gathered together their armies to battle, and were gathered together at Shochoh, which belongeth to Judah, and pitched between Shochoh and Azekah, in Ephesdammim.
2And Saul and the men of Israel were gathered together, and pitched by the valley of Elah, and set the battle in array against the Philistines.
3And the Philistines stood on a mountain on the one side, and Israel stood on a mountain on the other side: and there was a valley between them.
4And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span.

Saul's height was intimidating. The enemy you are fighting may look like you don't have a chance.

1 Sam 17:8-9
8And he stood and cried unto the armies of Israel, and said unto them, Why are ye come out to set your battle in array? am not I a Philistine, and ye servants to Saul? choose you a man for you, and let him come down to me.
9If he be able to fight with me, and to kill me, then will we be your servants: but if I prevail against him, and kill him, then shall ye be our servants, and serve us.

You may have a situation where the devil tells you God will not come through. David was not scared of Goliath.

2 Tim 1:7
7For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind

Psalm 27:1
1The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

How are you going to get the get the victory?:

1. Learn how to decree it:

1 Sam 17:37
37David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the LORD be with thee.

Prov 18:21
21Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Heb 11:1
1Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

2.Run after it.

James 2:17
17Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

Faith is a man and has ears and has legs.

Romans 10:17
17So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

3. You have to give up something costly. David had to give up the stone in his hand. You may lose relationships, friends, ect.
