You Can't Keep A Good Man Down

Mark 16:1-14
1And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him.
2And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.
3And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre?
4And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great.
5And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted.
6And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.
7But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you.
8And they went out quickly, and fled from the sepulchre; for they trembled and were amazed: neither said they any thing to any man; for they were afraid.
9Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils.
10And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept.
11And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not.
12After that he appeared in another form unto two of them, as they walked, and went into the country.
13And they went and told it unto the residue: neither believed they them.
14Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.

You may have had trials this year or last couple of years but you can't keep a good man down. Behind that smile there are issues but a good man can't be kept down.

In biblical times people brought animals to sacrifice. Sacrificing the animals was not good enough. You can be good all you want to but if you are not washed in the blood of Jesus you are going to hell.

Jesus shed blood in 8 places:

1. Jesus was circumcised on the 8th day which meant His reproductive organ shed blood. He shed blood there so that everything you reproduce will be covered as well as your whole family.

2. Luke 22:39-44

39And he came out, and went, as he was wont, to the mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed him.
40And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.
41And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,
42Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
43And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.
44And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

Jesus sweated blood from the pressure and He was betrayed by Judas. He sweated blood so that we can have sweatless victory. The next blessing is on God. God is getting ready to do something just for you.

3.Men wore beards. To not have a beard meant shame.

Isaiah 50:6-7

6I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.
7For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.

Jesus' beard was ripped off of his face and blood was shed so that we will have no more shame.

2 Corinthians 5:17

17Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

4. Jesus was tied to the whipman's post and He was chained like a dog. There was a set of 9 tails. Each leather stripe had bone, glass and metal. His flesh began to rip and 39 stripes were received. You couldn't tell that he was a human being after they were done.  Jesus shed blood on his back so you would forget what's behind you.

Isaiah 9:6

6For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 53:5

5But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

5. Crown of thorns was on Jesus' head. The thorns were 5" long each and they were metal. The crown pressed into His skull. Blood was shed around Jesus' mind. This was so we can have a brand new mentality. Thank God for a brand new mind.

6. They nailed his hands to the cross and  an 8" spike went through his wrist. You have thought about ending your life but He shed blood in his wrist so you wouldn't feel like slitting your wrist is the only option. He will also bless the work of your hands. Don't give up and hang in there. God has a plan for you.

7. His feet were nailed to the cross. Blood was shed in His feet so we can walk on the serpent's head.

8. He was pierced on the side by a solder. He was already dead at that point. Sometimes it feels like people like to mess with you while you are down. Though Jesus was already dead they had to get to His level. Let people talk about you and mess with you. You are still on top.

There was a great earthquake after he died on the cross. Jesus rose from the dead and the first peson he sw was Mary Magdelene whome he casted out 7 devils. The next thing God will do He will do it for the women 1st who have gone through storms.
